HISTORY

João de Sande de Sacadura Botte died in July 1888 and was eighth grandson of Miguel de Sacadura Albarado, administrator of the links established in Rodrigo City by Hernan Botte Pacheco, who was sixth grandchild.

Also administered the real patronage Legas in Spain, Sir Prazo da Silva third Morgado of Aguieira, was the most enlightened winegrower of his time, having their wines as the renowned Dão region, been quoted in the work of winemakers of the time .

The Bica Manor is in the family since the Sec. XVII. Today, and after heritage by João Sacadura Botte the manor is owned by "Quinta da Bica - Sociedade Acrícola Lda." dedicated to the production and bottling of wine with the trademark of Quinta da Bica®, work begun by João Sacadura Botte and continued by his family.

Recognized nationally and internationally for its quality and prestige, the wine production began in 1989 by the hands of João Sacadura Botte with oenology of Prof. Virgílio Loureiro. In 1992/1993 it was a transition year and the oenology changes hands for the Master Magalhães Coelho.

 

Currently the destinations of the Manor are managed by the family matriarch, Filipa Sacadura Botte with the precious help of his daughters Joana, Marta, Matilde and Madalena.

 

In 2003 Paulo Nunes becomes the oenologist of Quinta da Bica, where he has applied all its know-how until today.

The focus on quality and constant concern in improving not only the product as the image are intrinsic characteristics to the wines Quinta da Bica®.
